경상남도 창원시 의창구 북면 천주산 일원에서 2026년 4월 11일(토)부터 12일(일)까지 ‘제28회 고향의 봄 천주산 진달래축제’가 열린다. 이번 축제는 ‘고향의 봄’ 창작 100주년을 기념하여 다채로운 문화 행사와 함께 자연이 어우러진 특별한 봄 축제로 준비되었다.

행사 기간은 오전 10시부터 오후 4시까지 운영되며, 개막식은 12일(일) 오전 11시에 진행된다. 주요 장소는 천주산 일원과 달천계곡 오토캠핑장을 포함한다. 입장료는 무료로, 누구나 자유롭게 참여할 수 있다.

행사 주요 프로그램으로는 개회식, 산신제, 진달래 가요제, 초청가수 공연, 시민 참여형 사생 및 백일장 대회, 지역 특산물 공예 체험 및 시식 등이 준비되어 방문객에게 풍성한 볼거리와 즐길 거리를 제공한다. 특히 해발 638.8m 천주산 정상 부근의 진달래 군락지에서는 아름다운 분홍빛 꽃물결을 만끽할 수 있어 전국 각지에서 많은 관광객이 찾을 것으로 예상된다.
 
교통편과 관련해 축제 기간 동안 교통 혼잡이 예상되므로 대중교통 이용을 권장한다. 창원역에서는 24번 시내버스를 이용해 외감입구(외감주유소) 정류장에서 하차할 수 있으며, 배차 간격은 약 70분이다. 자가용 이용 시 달천계곡 주차장을 기본으로 임시 주차장이 운영된다. 정상 군락지까지는 약 1시간가량 산행이 필요해 편안한 복장과 신발 착용이 바람직하다.

The 28th "Spring of Hometown" Cheonjusan Azalea Festival will be held from Saturday, April 11 to Sunday, April 12, 2026, around Cheonjusan Mountain in Buk-myeon, Uichang-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. This year’s festival is specially prepared to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the creation of the song "Spring of Hometown," combining a variety of cultural events with the beauty of nature for a unique spring experience.
 
The festival runs daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with an opening ceremony scheduled for 11:00 AM on April 12. Key venues include the area around Cheonjusan Mountain and the Dalcheon Valley Auto Camping Site. Admission is free, welcoming visitors of all ages.

Highlights of the festival’s program include the opening ceremony, a traditional mountain deity ritual (Sansinje), the Azalea Song Festival, invited singer performances, participatory art contests such as drawing and essay competitions, and local specialty craft and tasting events. Visitors can also enjoy the breathtaking pink azalea blooms near the summit of Cheonjusan Mountain, which stands at 638.8 meters above sea level. This spectacular natural scenery is expected to attract numerous tourists from across the country.
